How To Replace The XLERATOR Control Assembly #40103

Follow these easy step-by-step instructions on how to carefully and successfully replace The XLERATOR Control Assembly #40103. 

Step One: Disconnect the power supply to the dryer, usually located in your electrical panel box, and remove your cover. 

Step Two: Confirm power is disconnected by checking if there is any voltage at the terminal block. 

Step Three: Depress tab on the connector while pulling to unplug from control.

Step Four: Loosen rear screw one full turn.

Step Five: Loosen the front screw one full turn.

Step Six: Slide control and bracket towards you and away from the wall to disengage bracket screws.

Step Seven: Disconnect the green ground wire on the bracket.

Step Eight: Disconnect the sensor assembly with bracket by removing the two screws. The entire assembly is now removed.

Step Nine: To install your new control assembly, slide the bracket back into place and tighten screws. 

Step Ten: Connect to the green ground wire with the sensor wire routed behind the ground wire.

Step Eleven: Ensure the control wire with the harness is routed behind the adjustment knobs. 

Step Twelve: Press the tab back into place.

Step Thirteen: Place screws into the sensor bracket and install the sensor in place by tightening screws.
