Excel Dryer: The Most Valuable Product For a Championship Franchise

It’s hard to believe, but the 2021 NFL season is already coming to an end—it feels like it just kicked off! With just one game left, fans across the country are picking sides while getting ready for the big finale between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams. While we’re sad our team, the New England Patriots, won’t be competing in the big game, we’re still proud to be the MVP (Most Valuable Product) for a championship winning franchise. In this blog, we’re examining our back-to-back victories with the Patriots.

Hand Dryer Hygiene at Gillette

In a high volume arena where thousands of fans are cheering side-by-side, hand hygiene is important for the health and safety of everyone in the stands. That’s why the Pats have relied on us to save money and provide a quick and hygienic experience for their fans—not just once, but twice. The six-time champions first turned to Excel in 2009 for the installation of 125 high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® Hand Dryers in the stadium’s restrooms.

The benefits don’t stop there, Gillette also experienced hand dryer energy savings to drastically improve their bottom line. Originally equipped with paper towel dispensers, the stadium used an average of 6.3 million paper towels each and every year, at a cost of more than $50,000 for the towels themselves, maintenance and waste removal. With the upgrade, the venue saved 95% and reduced its carbon footprint by 70%.

Back-To-Back Installation Success

Our back-to-back installations with the Patriots continued with the Optum Field Lounge, a new and exciting VIP space located at field level behind one of the stadium’s end zones. Providing a terrace, HD screens, a massive media wall, premium bars and state-of-the-art capabilities, this space affords an event experience like no other for corporate receptions, parties, fundraisers and more. Unfortunately, until a recent renovation project, the lounge’s restrooms needed a serious remodeling to keep up.

That changed when the traditional sinks and soap dispensers were removed in favor of the D|13 Sink System featuring XLERATORsync®. Since the sink and dryer are designed in tandem, the basin is angled appropriately to handle high-speed air flow from the dryer. This strategic design improves the guest experience, cuts down on maintenance time and minimizes the risk for slips and falls that wayward water could cause. It also greatly improves the facility’s energy use, as its operation consumes less electricity than traditional wall-mounted dryers—positively contributing to Gillette’s overall sustainability goals.
