Step 1: Disconnect Power to the Unit

Step 2: Remove the Cover

Remove the cover by removing the tamper-proof bolt located on the bottom of the dryer. Gently lift the cover upwards to remove it.

Step 3: Disconnect Wires from the Motor

Check for power to the unit, and then disconnect the wires from the motor. To do this, remove the black wire from the low side of the terminal block followed by the white wire.

Step 4: Remove the Dryer Pre-Filter and Blower Housing

Remove the dryer pre-filter, and then locate and remove the six screws which hold the blower housing front. Once the screws are removed, grasp the motor along with the bottom muffler housing output, and remove the old motor.

Step 5: Replace the Motor

Replace the motor followed by replacing the top and bottom mufflers. Route the white and black wires from the motor through the notch in the blower housing front and press in place to the notch in the blower housing back. Secure with the six screws.

Step 6: Reconnect the Wires

Reconnect the white wire from the new motor to the white connector, and the black wire to the low side of the terminal block where previously removed.

Step 7: Reinstall Cover and Test Dryer

Replace the pre-filter, reinstall the cover and the cover screw, and return power to the dryer. Test dryer for proper operation by operating for more than 10 seconds.
