East Longmeadow, MA –April 3, 2015 – – Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the finest Made in USA Certified® hand dryers for more than 50 years including the original, patented, high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® Hand Dryer, today announced support for the 2015 American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Legislative Symposium to take place April 14-15 in Washington, D.C. Excel Dryer is proud to partner with ASID and be a catalyst for change by advocating for legislative policy in support of a more sustainable and green built environment. The ASID Legislative Symposium provides training and knowledge to preserve practice rights at both a state and federal legislative level. Attendees can participate by earning continuing education credits, attending sessions focused on building codes and standards, lighting design, the evolution of interior design in the building industry, and national updates on interior design-related legislative activity. Additionally, the event will serve as a platform for attendees to engage with legislators, and speak with members of Congress about the technical and scientific aspects of the interior design profession and how the work contributes to the economy.

“We share the same vision and values as our industry partners in the architecture and interior design profession and support them by creating innovative and environmentally friendly solutions,” said Vice President of Marketing, William Gagnon. “We urge professionals within those industries to attend the legislative symposium and advocate for policies that support industry innovation focused on sustainability – especially here in the United States to support our economy.”

The sustainable commercial building community is inundated with marketing about green products as alternatives to traditional solutions, many of which are false claims. In an effort to preserve the environment and the authenticity of sustainable products, ASID and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) fellow, Penny Bonda, released the second edition of Sustainable Commercial Interiors as a comprehensive guide about the latest in green and sustainable design. Excel Dryer was among the sustainable product manufacturers asked to provide thought leadership within the book. More specifically, Bonda featured the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), performed by Quantis International, in a case study as the proper way to prove product sustainability. The LCA confirmed the XLERATOR hand dryer reduces the carbon footprint of hand drying by 50-70 percent when compared to both traditional hand dryers and even 100 percent recycled paper towels.

Excel Dryer is also the only hand dryer manufacturer to have been awarded the prestigious Made in USA Certified Seal by the only independent, third-party certification source for Country of Origin Labeling in the world. Certified, Inc.,evaluated the manufacturing process of XLERATOR hand dryers including an extensive supply chain audit to confirm detailed authentication.
